School Christmas performance and sponsored Reindeer Run

View Images

More than 70 parents, carers and family members came to watch the students in each Form in a special Christmas production at the end of last term.

All the forms put on a splendid performance that did justice to all their hard work and that of the teachers and support staff who helped them plan, rehearse and make costumes.

The hall was so full with the stage and seats for the audience that there was no room for the students to watch each other perform! So, in response to popular demand, the show was repeated to add another very enjoyable event to the week-long programme of Christmas events that included the whole school pantomime trip to see sleeping Beauty at the Camberley Theatre, the Christmas disco, the staff pantomime directed by Mrs Kennedy, Christmas lunch, Key Stage parties and the Reindeer Run. More than 50 parents and carers stayed on after the Christmas production to join in with the sponsored run in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, or to cheer the students on. This has become an annual event at The Abbey, and we are always staggered by the generosity of our families and their efforts to raise as much money as possible for this very important community cause. If there are any further donations, please send them in to school and we will pass them on to the team at Phyllis Tuckwell who tell us that to date the school has raised a total of over:

£1,200

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and collected sponsor money
