Grasp GASP

This term we are again very fortunate to have weekly visits from the GASP motor project mobile workshop. The volunteers are all experienced and enthusiastic engineers who give up their time to pass on their skills and passion for motor mechanics to our students. It is a fantastic opportunity for Abbey students to learn basic motor mechanics and practical engineering skills from qualified instructors and work towards externally accredited qualifications.

Last week, David Davis, one of the trustees of the charity, visited the Abbey with school governor and Chair of the County Council, David Munro, to meet the students currently benefitting from the sessions.

GASP also run daytime and evening sessions from their purpose built workshop in Albury.  You can learn to build off-road and track karts and study the Highway Code. Evening sessions are two hours and run weekly starting at 7p.m. Each term is usually 13 weeks and each session costs £5.
