To commemorate the historic event of a monarch reaching 70 years on the throne, Mrs Gardiner (Assistant Head teacher) and her team organised a range of events and activities to help celebrate together and create lasting memories for the students.

  • Planting a commemorative tree with a Jubilee plaque
  • Commemorative plate decorating
  • Making bunting
  • A variety of crafts and themed lessons
  • A whole school drone photograph in the shape of 70
  • A performance by Max Fulham – entertainer
  • Filling and burying Mrs Hylands’s time capsule
  • Achievement medals linked to the school’s ‘Together We Can’ values
  • Making their own version of The Queen’s Pudding
  • A whole school street party

… and Mrs Child decorated an amazing celebration cake baked by students in her Catering classes. Mr Moore (DT) helped construct the custom-built stand, students produced the home-made cup-cakes which are adorned with jubilee flags that Mrs Child made herself!

Huge thanks to Mr Sims, Chief Pilot of the drone company who managed to get some remarkable photos in some very windy and difficult conditions. Getting everyone into position was a testament to careful logistical planning, good communication and cooperation.
