Annual Abbey School Christmas Lunch 2018

View Images

The annual Christmas lunch is a long-established tradition at The Abbey and a highlight of the school calendar; an opportunity for staff, students and governors to come together and celebrate as well as to say thank you to the specially invited guests who help support the school and the students throughout the year.

Guests included representatives from local charities, therapists, coaches and specialist teachers who the students were delighted to meet in a more informal setting and practice their social skills.

Martina, who stepped in as school cook this year, ably assisted by Natalie and additional reinforcements from Surrey Commercial Services, Sue Hattley (District Catering Manager), Barbara and Helen, served delicious traditional Christmas meals to over 30 guests and governors, nearly 75 students and about 35 staff. They were all thanked with a rousing cheer from the diners and by Mr Jackson who went on to explain:

Christmas lunch – A good time was had by all!

I would like to say a huge thank you to our catering team from Surrey Commercial Services who cooked 140 meals and managed to serve two sittings in just over an hour. They were superb!

It was also lovely to have so many guests in attendance and a great way to give them a whole school Abbey thank you for all of the different ways in which they support our school.
