It was great to visit the school in late August and see the completed sports hall with all its equipment and floor markings in place!. We particularly liked the scoreboard! The temporary car park and fences also looked really good and will be much needed.

As always in the construction industry, with multi-phase projects there is very little time to celebrate the completion of a stage. All thoughts for Jacques and the O&D team are now turning to Phase 4 and the new classrooms on the left side of the school. Demolition of the old low walls is now finished and over the coming weeks a reduced dig will take place in preparation for work on the piling mat and foundations. The piling method will be the same as used on the sports hall so check out our blog from May 2022 to see what will happen in detail! 

The redecoration and carpeting of the Year 8/9 corridor and classrooms was particularly pleasing to see as it blends them in perfectly with the new Year 7 build, and of course maintains the high standards set across The Abbey in all areas.
